Speaker — David Burnett

David Burnett has been a photojournalist for
as long as he can remember. Starting in school,
photographing basketball games, to the modern
day Olympics, he has travelled to over 85 countries,
producing photo essays for a vast array of international
magazines including Time, Paris-Match, GEO, and
The Sunday Times Magazine.

Burnett co-founded Contact Press Images in 1976, one
of the last independent photojournalistic agencies, and continues to work on
both journalistic endeavors and for commerical clients.  He has won the Robert
Capa Gold Medal from the Overseas Press Club, been named Magazine Photographer
of the Year, and twice won the Olivier Rebbot Award from the O P C. He is based in
New York. His current work employs both modern digital cameras, and World War
II era Graflex film cameras.
