Don Abood: Abood is president and co-founder of Picture Group. Before his association with the agency, he was a picture editor with the Providence Journal. He was an editor on the "Day in the Life of the Soviet Union" book.

Natalie Fobes: Fobes is a staff photographer with the Seattle Times. She received the Alicia Patterson Foundation Fellowship to document the plight of the Pacific salmon.

Tom Kennedy: As Director of Photography at the National Geographic Society, Kennedy is in charge of staff, contract and free-lance photographers. Before joining the magazine, he was deputy graphics director of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Vince Musi & Andy Schneider: Vince Musi has been with the Pittsburgh Press for 2 1/2 years. Before that he was a student at Ohio University. A former photographer with Newsweek and the AP, Andy Schneider is medical editor for the Press and a national correspondent for Scripps-Howard News Service. He won back to back Pulitzers for specialized reporting and public service. They worked as a team on a story that resulted in the second Pulitzer.

Mike Phillips: The Hollywood Sun-Tattler has established a reputation for fine photojournalism over the past few years. Phillips, editor of the paper since 1985, is responsible for nurturing that atmosphere.

Galen Rowell: A noted landscape photographer, Rowell shoots for National Geographic, Sports Illustrated and corporate clients. He also founded Mountain Light stock photo agency. His talk is sponsored by Eastman Kodak.

Murry Sill: The Cuban Mariels (he was not listed on the brochure but was added to the list of events)

(Bernie Boston was on the original brochure. Bio off of brochure: Washington bureau chief of the L.A. Times since 1981, he has covered the White House and Washington scene for many years. He is a frequent winner in the White House Press Photographers Contest and the Pictures of the Year competition.)
