"The Deuces"
In its day, 22nd St. South in St. Petersburg, FL, was considered one of the nations
African American main streets. Segregation guaranteed its growth, integration guaranteed
its demise. The now desolate street is home to a few old-timers who remember and
those who live there because it offers affordable housing.
